Earlier this month, Australia’s fastest charging electric car, the Zeekr 7X, received approval for sale in Australia after receiving over 1,000 pre-orders in the first week of its launch.
Now, at an event in South Australia, the brand has announced that it’s received over 2,000 orders with first customer test drives to begin from October 6.
Following that on October 15, first Australian customer deliveries will begin, exactly after a year of the brand launched in Australia.
This will mark a major milestone for Zeekr as it looks to diversity it’s customer base with the new mid-sized SUV model, after launching a small electric SUV and a luxury people mover over the last 12 months.

Another key update that the Zeekr team shared was around the addition of a dealership in South Australia, further increasing the brand’s footprint.
It now has dealerships in most states across the country with further expansion plans likely to be revealed in the coming months.
Zeekr’s 7X was announced for Australian market in early August at an event in Sydney. In less than a week of that event, the company announced that it had received over 1,000 pre-orders.
In Australia, three variants of the 7X are offered with pricing (before on-roads) starting at $57,900.
The Long Range RWD variant bumps that up to $63,900 while the top-spec Performance AWD comes in at $72,900.
The entry-level RWD features Zeekr’s 75 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack, which allows for charging speeds of up to 450 kW, thanks to the 800 V architecture the model sits on. This battery will also deliver a WLTP range of up to 480 km on a single charge.
All variants also include 22 kW AC charging, making the 7X in its RWD variant, one of the few cars under $60,000 that offer 22 kW on-board charger.

Next in the lineup is the Long Range RWD variant which bumps that range figure to 615 km. That model comes with a 100 kWh Nickel-Manganese-Cobalt (NMC) battery, providing an increase in range for $6,000 more.
Moving up, there is also the top-spec Performance AWD variant, with acceleration of 0-100 km/h taking just 3.8 seconds, down from 6 seconds in the entry-level RWD variant.
This variant uses the same 100 kWh battery as the Long Range RWD. It’s range drops back to 543 km, thanks to the addition of the second motor but provides a massive bump in power when on the road.
The 7X also includes vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability with 3.3 kW output, making it convenient to power other electrical devices when parked in the garage or when on the go.

That’s quite helpful for camping with the car and given its 2-tonne towing capacity, it’d be most welcomed by many upcoming owners.
The Zeekr 7X is the most anticipated car from the brand, and with latest from the brand guiding towards over 2,000 pre-orders as of mid-September.
We look forward to test-driving the car on local roads to see what it’s really like. Given our left hand drive version initial drive in China during December, it’s expected to be up there in terms of handling and comfort.
More on what the car is like to drive in weeks to come.
