In April 2024, Zeekr, one of the fastest-growing brands under Geely Holdings, which also owns the Volvo, Polestar, Geely, Lotus and many other big automotive brands, launched its slick 7GT electric performance wagon with over 450 kW of charging power.
Now, this very vehicle has gone into its first major international market, landing in Europe at the Brussels Motor Show being held in Belguim.
At the show, the company held a press conference unveiling a two-tone 7GT wagon example with European media and members of the industry, the first to get a sneak peek of the upcoming model in their market.
“Today, we take the step further, we expand the Zeekr portfolio, launching our fourth model here in Europe, this is a very special moment, the all new Zeekr 7GT,” Lothar Schupet, Acting CEO of Zeekr Europe, said.
Off the back of this announcement, a few excited enthusiasts took to social media with one saying: “Absolutely stunning. Can’t wait to get my hand on one in Switzerland.”
Another owner of the brand in Australia, Stan, shared: “I just took delivery of my Zeekr 7X in Adelaide this week, driving it straight back to my island home. What an awesome beast. Can’t wait to see the GT on our Aussie roads. Let the Good Times roll.”
The Zeekr 7GT also made a surprise appearance at a few EV shows around Sydney and Melbourne in November, with many locals getting a chance to see the car up close.
As mentioned above, the 7GT wagon made its debut in China in April last year with a price which was much lower than originally expected.
The entry-level wagon started in China at the equivalent of just under $A44,000, and the top-spec vehicle took that up to just under $A50,000.
The entry-level variant of the 7GT also happens to be one of the fastest-charging cars in the world, thanks to Zeekr’s in-house developed Golden Lithium-Iron-Phosphate (LFP) battery, which can reach peak charging speeds of up to 500 kW.
This tech is also found the 7X SUV, which has seen over 3,000 pre-orders on the car and around 1,000 deliveries to close 2025.

Part of the reason it can attain these speeds is the 800 V architecture many of the newer Zeekr models are based on, which has ultra-fast charging speed on offer and newer drive train technologies.
This 75 kWh pack can charge from 10-80% in just 10.5 minutes, given it’s charged at a powerful enough charger. Closest chargers we have in Australia top out at 400 kW but more high-powered sites are expected to open in 2026.
This pack allows for up to 650 km of CLTC range on a single charge, but we can expect it to be closer to 570 km on the WLTP cycle.
Powering the entry-level variant is a powerful 310 kW rear-mounted motor, which delivers up to 440 Nm of peak torque. This variant can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in a respectable 5.2 seconds.
The more powerful dual-motor variants are given an additional 165 kW front-mounted motor, delivering a combined power output of 475 kW, and shaving the 0-100 km/h acceleration time to just 3.8 seconds.
These dual-motor variants feature a Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese (NCM) 100 kWh pack, which delivers up to 825 km of CLTC range.
On the design front, the 7 GT really targets buyers who are looking for practicality with the space and a level of sportiness.
With its large wheels and a sloping roof line, it’s expected to see many buyers from the traditional SUV segment move into a wagon.
On the inside, Zeekr’s clean design as well as the clever use of physical buttons for key functions, would make it an easy car to own and live with for many buyers.

Along with that, there is a screen behind the steering wheel and a large heads-up display to help drivers keep their eyes on the road.
Locally, Zeekr currently offers the small electric SUV, the X, a luxury people mover, the 009 and the latest 7X mid-sized SUV.
Given the lack of electric wagon options, apart from a few luxury offerings such as the Porsche Taycan Cross Tourismo and BMW i5 Touring, the new 7 GT is expected to do quite well for the brand in Europe and hopefully Australia too in the next 12 months or so as part of its global expansion plans.
