MG has announced that it will be cutting prices on its MG4 electric hatchback models as a cashback offer for customer who purchase a car in January 2026 as part of the “Summer Savings” offers.
Cashback summer saving of up to $5,000 is available along with a free home EV charger which the brand calls the “MG EV ChargeHub”.

The MG4 driveaway prices have seen a major reduction with the line up now showing Victorian driveaway prices of:
- MG4 51 kWh RWD Excite – $36,302 driveaway (down by $4,000)
- MG4 64 kWh RWD Excite – $40,470 driveaway (down by $4,000)
- MG4 64 kWh RWD Essence – $42,554 driveaway (down by $4,000)
- MG4 77 kWh RWD Essence LR – $46,722 driveaway (down by $4,000)
- MG4 64 kWh AWD Xpower – $48,848 driveaway (down by $5,000)
Existing MG customers who have owned an MG for over 3 years or have serviced their MG at one of the brand’s dealers, 3-years in a row, can receive an additional $500-1,000 discount when they purchase a new MG.
MG4 owners also receive MG’s benchmark warranty program that includes a 10-year or 250,000 km warranty across its entire range.
With the pricing of EVs generally coming down, the MG4 price incentive will help it stand out from buyers looking at other hatchbacks such as as the BYD Dolphin, the GWM Ora and even some looking at the recently launched BYD Atto 1 and Atto 2 SUV which are some of Australia’s cheapest EVs.
Earlier this week, Hyundai also made an announcement, shaving thousands off the price of its Kona electric and Inster offerings.
