HIVED claims to be the UK’s first fully-electric parcel delivery network, operating both middle-mile electric HGVs for intercity haulage as well as last-mile electric delivery vans. Until now, it has only operated in London – but, since introducing 11 Mercedes-Benz eActros trucks to its fleet, it is now able to provide distribution between cities.
So, what’s on the cards is a total of eight new locations: Bath, Bournemouth, Brighton, Bristol, Portsmouth, Poole, Southampton, and Worthing. There, HIVED has now been fully operational since early September 2025.
Many of these are seaside towns or cities, although HIVED hasn’t explained its justifications for choosing these new locations besides stating a “retail partner demand to be nationwide”. These retail partners reportedly include Nespresso, Liberty of London, H&M, Gousto and John Lewis, so it could be the case that the new cities were chosen based on their retail locations.
In a statement, HIVED said: “This expansion follows our $42m Series B funding round, accelerating our growth beyond London and establishing HIVED as a true nationwide player in the UK delivery market. With e-commerce now driving nearly 10% of the UK’s GDP, demand for fast, reliable and sustainable delivery has never been higher.”
That Series B round was led by NordicNinja plus a group of HIVED’s existing investors, including Planet A, Wex Venture Capital, Marunouchi Innovation Partners, Elemental Impact, Yamato Holdings, Future Back Ventures by Bain and Co, plus Rocketship VC. The company says it wants to continue expanding, with HIVED CEO Murvah Iqbal, a former Manchester City footballer, saying: “We aim to cover 80% of the UK within the next two years. That’s what we’re on track for.”
