Donald Duck drives electric – at least in Germany – Ev Authority.com

In the story, Donald’s trusty old car no longer meets modern environmental standards, prompting him to take action. Using his self-built “multifunctional vehicle-greening kit,” he transforms the 313 into an electric model – with typically chaotic results.

“Donald Duck proves once again that progress and chaos often go hand in hand,” said German publisher Jörg Risken. “With ‘The E-313’, we present a story that humorously reflects a current issue while preserving the classic Duckburg spirit.”

It is not clear whether or not the beloved Disney character will make the same environmentally conscious decision in other countries as well. For instance, in the US, where policies would likely push Donald to stick with his oldtimer or purchase a new petrol car.

On a side note: Donald is likely not the first duck in Duckburg to drive electric. Grandma Duck appears to have been driving a 1916 Detroit Electric, though that was never officially confirmed by Disney itself.
