Each hub provides up to 12 ultra-rapid chargers with power outputs of up to 150 kW, allowing drivers to add significant range in a short time and continue their journeys with minimal disruption. The company emphasises that all 50 locations throughout Scotland are open to the public.
The network is less than a year old. It was first introduced in 2024 as part of a £30 million investment by Arnold Clark, the UK’s largest independently owned, family-run car retailer, and has since expanded rapidly across the country. As part of a wider rollout strategy, Arnold Clark Charge is also expanding into key locations across the UK. The aim is to support both long-distance electric vehicle travel and the charging needs of local communities, strengthening access to high-power charging infrastructure beyond Scotland.
Pricing is positioned at the lower end of the ultra-rapid market, the company states. Specifically, Arnold Clark Charge offers charging at 55 pence per kilowatt-hour. Payments can be made via the Arnold Clark app, through roaming partners, or using contactless payment at all charging hubs.
