Tesla has launched a subscription offering for its newly released Full Self-Driving (FSD) supervised software to all eligible cars in Australia and New Zealand.

The FSD Supervised was released last month, making them the first right-hand-drive markets in the world to obtain the landmark technology. At that time, this software was available on all new vehicles as an option with the current pricing of $10,100, with a monthly subscription to be coming soon.

Now, the company has announced that the subscriptions have gone live in Australia and New Zealand. In a post on X, the company shared: “FSD Supervised subscriptions now available in Australia & New Zealand”.

Pricing for anyone with an eligible Hardware 4.0 (also known as AI4) capable car in Australia can sign up for $149 per month. In New Zealand, it comes in at $159 per month.

For those customers who already have the Enhanced Autopilot package, upgrades are also available with pricing starting at $75 per month.

According to Tesla, existing customers can upgrade to either of the subscriptions from their app: “You can do it from the Tesla App. Tap the product tile for feature availability for your vehicle,” it says.

Within the app, the FSD Supervised sits under the “Upgrades” section:

  • Upgrades > Software Upgrades > Subscribe

This got some owners with eligible cars quite excited, with one saying: “You bloody beauty! Download incoming!!”

It’s also worth noting that the software isn’t currently available to older, Hardware 3-equipped cars, so the subscription service won’t be available to those owners, much to their frustration. See: “I just want what I paid for”; Tesla’s first Australian customer not happy with FSD treatment
