Subaru has rolled out its 2026 Subaru Uncharted electric SUV.
It’s a small SUV designed to slip under the Solterra and recently released Trailseeker SUVs and marks the third electric car developed in cooperation with Toyota.
Developed alongside the 2025 Toyota C-HR+ EV, the new Subaru Uncharted shares a platform, powertrain tech and most of its body with the Toyota.

Still to be locked in for Australia, the all-electric Crosstrek-sized SUV has been launched in the US and confirmed for Europe including right-hand drive UK (Euro-spec pictured top).
In the USA it’s offered in Premium, Sport and GT trims.

The entry-spec Premium comes with a single front e-motor that drives just the front wheels – a rarity for a Subaru – and produces 165kW.
Both the Sport and GT have dual-motors, all-wheel drive that works with the firm’s traction-boosting X-mode and up to 252kW of power for a brisk 0-100km/h sprint of just 5.2 seconds.
Powering the motors is a 74.7kWh lithium-ion battery that sees the Uncharted SUV cover up to 482km with the single e-motor and 466km with the dual-motors.

An alternative single-motor, FWD version will also be available in Europe with a smaller 57.7 kW/h battery, offering a range of 444km.
Those figures are some way off the Toyota C-HR+’s claims between 525km and 600km.
Plug it in and DC fast-charging is up to 150kW, with a 10-80 per cent top-up said to take about 30 minutes.
Despite looking almost identical to the Toyota C-HR+, the Subaru sports a different front-end design that aligns it with the Solterra and Trailseeker, plus revised tail-lights, new alloy wheels, a different rear bumper and unique roof rails.

Within, the Uncharted looks similar to the Toyota and gains a large 14-inch infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster and dual wireless smartphone chargers.
Subaru promises that the new Uncharted will come with its own suspension tune.
It’s not just the new Subaru Uncharted that has a question mark hanging over it for Australia. Toyota has also yet to confirm its C-HR+ for a local import.
Instead, Toyota has locked in its bZ4X Touring for a launch in the first half of 2025.
