The first electric Volvo to wear the Cross Country badge has gone on-sale in Australia.
The 2025 Volvo EX30 Cross Country is based on the dual motor all-wheel drive version of the compact hatch.
Pricing is set at $69,990 (plus on-road costs) for the EX30 Twin Motor Cross Country, slotting it just underneath the most expensive model in the line-up, the EX30 Twin Motor Performance Ultra.

The Cross Country is available for order now ahead of deliveries commencing before the end of this year.
The first electric Cross Country – the badge has been around since 1997 – is set to be pitched against high-spec small SUVs like the MINI Aceman, Smart #1 and Jeep Avenger.

While it’s created to be more at home over rough terrain, the Volvo EX30 Cross Country isn’t a battery-powered alternative to a Land Rover Defender.
But its 19mm raised running height, larger rubber and optional 18-inch rims wrapped in all-terrain tyres should all help boost capability.
Finally, enhancing comfort over rough or unsealed roads, engineers have gone for a softer suspension tune.
The EX30 Cross Country advertises its more adventurous personality with its front and rear bash plates and wheel arch extenders.
There’s also a topographical map of an Arctic Swedish mountain range, plus longitude and latitude coordinates to Sweden’s highest building, the Toppstugan emergency accommodation cabin.

Available only with Volvo’s Twin Motor powertrain that delivers an impressive 315kW and 543Nm of torque, the 64kWh battery is shared with other EX30 models.
But because of all the Cross Country additions, the range has dropped from 445km (EX30 Performance) to 427km, with both recorded on the Euro WLTP test cycle.
Charging remains pegged at a DC rate of up to 135kW with a 10 to 80 per cent top up taking 26 minutes, while home charging is up to 11kW AC.
Choose the EX30 Cross Country and the small Volvo SUV comes with rear privacy glass, a fixed panoramic roof, power adjustable heated seats, a heated steering wheel and wireless phone charging.
Within, there’s the same 12.3-inch infotainment system as the regular EX30 that works with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as Google built-in. A digital key, Harman Kardon premium sound system, with a dash-mounted soundbar are all standard.
Volvo Australia says the 2025 Volvo EX30 Cross Country is available to order now.
