Chinese cordless vacuum and robotic mower maker, Dreame Technology, has announced it will branch out into EVs with the launch of a luxurious electric vehicle that will deliver Bugatti-beating performance.

Announcing it will launch its unnamed hypercar in 2027, the centrepiece of its first ever EV will be a state-of-the-art e-motor that uses the tech giant’s high-speed digital motor technology.

Capable of spinning up to 200,000rpm – more than ten times the speed of Tesla’s latest Performance 4DU e-motor (18,000rpm) – Dreame’s tech has already been deployed in the company’s flagship Z50 Station vacuum cleaner.

“The luxury automotive sector has been missing a truly intelligent electric hypercar brand,” declared Dreame in a statement reported by CarNewsChina.

“While traditional ultra-luxury brands like Bugatti and Bentley have been slow to embrace electrification and intelligence, Dreame will redefine what constitutes ultra-luxury in the next automotive era.”

According to reports, Dreame has already recruited more than 1000 engineers and designers, including many from traditional established car-makers to develop the vehicle ahead of its 2027 debut.

When launched, Dreame says the hypercar will come with an AI companion that will learn and adapt to the driver’s habits, preferences and even emotional states.

The same system will also integrate into the owner’s smart home and mobile devices.

The switch from electronics to EV-maker mirrors Xiaomi’s successful transition to car-making, although Dreame will be careful not to repeat the mistakes made by British vacuum-maker Dyson that attempted but failed after it realised that the investment need was too high to make a profit.
