Skoda’s next EV chapter is about to begin.
The Czech brand has released a second tease of the next-generation Vision O EV concept it will unwrap this September 8 at the Munich motor show.
Created to preview the all-new fifth-generation Octavia battery electric sedan and wagon, the latest teaser of a darkened Vision O EV (top) is claimed to demonstrate how the wagon will draw influences from the first gen Octavia (1996-2004), while also featuring advanced aerodynamics honed in the wind tunnel.

The fresh video teaser of the shadowy Vision O concept gives us a closer look at the new B-pillar design and sloping rakish rear-styling that is said to feature a split-roof spoiler.
This is all evidence of engineers attempting to make the wagon as sleek as possible to slash its drag coefficient for a better EV range.
According to Skoda, that split spoiler leads to a pair of narrow taillights that form a T-shape to evoke the firm’s trademark ‘four-eyed’ lighting motif that’s shared with models like the latest Elroq.

There’s also new large SKODA lettering and a ‘Vision O’ designation on the rear tailgate.
Overall, the all-electric wagon is said to be the latest interpretation of the brand’s current Modern Solid design language.
Twinned with the next Mk9 Volkswagen Golf, the new Skoda will be among the first Volkswagen Group vehicles to be based on the car-making giant’s next-generation Scalable Systems Platform (SSP) that will use new software developed by US SUV and ute-maker Rivian.
Originally, it was thought the wagon – or ‘Combi’ – body style of the Octavia might have not survived another generation because of declining global sales.
But the concept is evidence Skoda thinks wagons still have a bright future in the electric age,
Skoda had planned to roll out an all-electric version of the Octavia with the fourth-gen sedan and wagon based on the VW Group’s current MEB platform.
But those plans were shelved after execs decided it was worth waiting for the more advanced SSP platform that is expected to offer “more performance” while delivering cost-savings.

Commenting on the latest teaser Skoda’s design boss Oliver Stefani said the concept highlighted the brand’s “commitment to pushing boundaries and continuously bringing innovation to future automotive design”.
“Vision O is extremely practical for everyday use and brings surprising and thoughtful details”.
Before Skoda’s Octavia EV lands in 2027, the brand will roll out at least two EVs; its sister car to the VW ID.2 and the Cupra Raval that will be badged Epiq and a flagship version of the Vision 7S concept that will sit above the Kodiaq SUV.
What will be missing is a Skoda-badged version of the cheapest Volkswagen ID Every1 EV, with the Czech brand preferring to let VW take the gamble on a sub-€20,000 ($35,500) electric car for Europe.
