Chinese auto giant Geely has launched a new set of incentives to help keep the sales momentum that it has built with its first model in the Australian market, the EX5 electric SUV.
After delivering over 2,700 cars so far this year, the brand has brought together what it calls a “complete EV ownership package”, which adds charging hardware for home charging as well as charging on the go.
In an email sent to Geely’s subscriber base, the company shared that new EX5 customers will receive a complimentary 7 kW wall charger hardware for charging at home. This excludes the installation of the charger unit. There is also the inclusion of a Type 2 charging cable.
Geely will also provide up to 1,000 kWh of public charging credit for customers to use Evie Network’s DC chargers across the country. The DC charging offer is valid for 12 months.

Geely launched in the Australian market with the EX5 SUV in March with starting prices of $40,990 for the entry-level Complete variant, while a top-of-the-line Inspire variant started at $44,990, both before on-road costs.
For the Australian market, the EX5 comes with a 60 kWh battery pack that can deliver 430 km of WLTP range.
On the charging front, this battery, from 30-80% will take roughly 20 minutes, due to a 100 kW peak DC charging speed, and 11 kW AC charging.
Along with that, the vehicle-to-load (V2L) discharge rate is up to 3.3 kW, which is well received by many owners.
In August, the company announced that it now has 43 dealers across the country, almost doubling its dealership count since launching.
During the same month, Geely also shared that it had rolled out an OTA update that would make improvements to the ownership experience by adding Apple CarPlay to its vehicles.

This week, August 2025 sales data showed that the EX5 was in the top 10 best-selling EVs in the country, with 401 sales. See also: Australian electric vehicle sales by month in 2025 – by model and by brand
That was also the fourth consecutive month where this model got more than 400 sales, with the highest month being June with 822 sales.
That brings the total sales of the EX5 to 2,736 over the last 6 months, making it one of the most popular EVs in the market.
The latest offer is available to new customers who purchase the EX5 from 1 September until 31 October 2025 and can take delivery by 30 November. It’s available to private buyers but does not include fleet, novated lease, government or rental buyers.
With competition in the affordable EV market only heating up, the level of incentives is only expected to increase as we close off 2025, which is positioned to be the best year for EV sales so far. This, of course, makes it an ideal time for drivers who have been sitting on the fence to make the switch.
