Ayvens Carmarket, the trading platform launched last year to market used cars from the company’s leasing business to professional car dealers, is responsible for the new information service. The SoH (State of Health) certificates will initially be introduced for used electric vehicles offered by Ayvens Carmarket in Czechia, Finland, France, Germany, Portugal and the Netherlands. The certification will then be rolled out to most other European countries in the coming months. Ayvens Carmarket is active in a total of 38 countries.

The SoH certificate primarily reveals the current battery capacity as a percentage of the original capacity. “It offers transparent and reliable information about a battery’s health, along with determining actual driving range. This helps build trust and confidence in used EVs,” Ayvens states. Battery diagnostics for Ayvens Carmarket are carried out by accredited companies certified by the European Car Remarketing Association (CARA). The diagnostics are based on the direct reading of the SoH value from the battery management system, which continuously monitors parameters such as voltage, temperature, charging history and the currently usable capacity.

“Battery performance is a key concern for customers considering the purchase of a used EV. With this SoH certification, Ayvens offers more transparency and helps clients to buy with confidence, while supporting a growing second-hand EV market and the transition to electric mobility,” said Frédéric Van Heems, Ayvens’ Group Remarketing Business Line Director. The used vehicle market is an important pillar of the circular economy. However, it continues to suffer from misconceptions, mainly due to a lack of transparency regarding battery condition.

For its European business, Ayvens has announced several major partnerships, including Plugsurfing just a few weeks ago to build a comprehensive charging app. The app will cover France, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium and the UK, with plans to expand further across Europe. Last year, the Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD also selected Ayvens as its European sales partner. Ayvens is initially planned to be active for BYD in France, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, with other countries to follow. Stellantis is also involved with Ayven’s electric car leasing fleet.
