At Busworld Europe 2025 in Brussels (4–9 October), Kiepe Electric will present new drive and platform solutions for electric buses. The highlight is the latest-generation Kiepe Traction Inverter (KTI), which is already in use in new models from Turkish manufacturer BMC. Its “PROCITY+ EV” series will make its debut at the fair.

For the “PROCITY+12 EV”, Kiepe developed the Kiepe eDrive Unit together with Dresden-based motor specialist VEM. The unit combines the KTI with an Energy Control Unit (ECU) and an electric motor. The ECU manages auxiliary systems such as heating, ventilation and air conditioning with high efficiency. The vehicle achieves a range of up to 490 kilometres, charging capacities of up to 400 kW and strong results in the E-SORT test cycle. The articulated “PROCITY+18 EV” is also equipped with these technologies and will likewise be unveiled in Brussels.

Kiepe will also showcase the eBus HPC Powertrain Platform, a modular complete solution for electric buses up to 36 metres in length. It consists of six modules: the drive system, energy management, auxiliaries, battery system, charging technology and vehicle control.

According to Kiepe Electric, the platform can be flexibly adapted to customer requirements. With charging capacities of up to 810 kW, it allows extremely short charging times and enables virtually continuous 24/7 operation. As a result, battery capacity can be reduced, creating more passenger space and lowering the overall vehicle weight, which also improves energy consumption.

Another highlight is the trolleybus upgrade package, which allows existing battery buses to be converted into trolleybuses with minimal effort. Two additional components – the Kiepe Isolating Converter (KIC) and the Kiepe Smart Current Collector (KSC) – provide the link between battery and overhead line systems, enabling flexible switching between the two energy sources.
