Connected vehicle specialist Geotab has announced that its platform can now connect to Tesla vehicles. This will provide fleets with a single, connected platform to manage their portfolio of Tesla vehicles, from passenger cars to the Tesla Semi.
Geotab’s solution is available for all Tesla models (except for 2021 or older Models X and S) in North America and Europe.
Fleets operating Tesla vehicles will now have centralized access to connected vehicle data directly within the MyGeotab platform. By providing near-real-time data on State of Charge (SoC) and remaining range, the solution helps fleets optimize charging strategies and improve vehicle utilization. Maintenance alerts help to maximize vehicle uptime.
The Geotab platform provides a range of data points to optimize fleet operations across several areas:
- Sustainability: Monitor EV-specific data, including battery level percentage, and remaining range to optimize charging strategies.
- Fleet Optimization: Use odometer data for better maintenance planning and monitor vehicle status such as tire pressure.
- Safety: Analyze and promote safe driving habits by utilizing data on seat belt status, vehicle speed, acceleration, harsh braking and cornering.
- Productivity: Monitor detailed GPS location tracking, trip and activity reports, and inventory management using geofencing.
“The future of fleet management is connected and data-rich,” said Christoph Ludewig, Vice President, EMEA at Geotab. “Connecting the Geotab platform with Tesla vehicles is a significant step forward in providing our customers with the benefits of OEM-embedded telematics. This solution empowers fleets to make the most of their Tesla vehicles by providing detailed insights into critical EV metrics like charging status, as well as productivity and location insights—all within the familiar MyGeotab environment.”
